Chronic Pain
Recognizing that Lyme disease affects every aspect of life, I adopt a holistic approach to therapy. This includes addressing not only the physical symptoms but also the emotional and psychological impacts of the disease. Together, we will work on strategies to manage pain, reduce anxiety and depression, and improve overall well-being.
Education is a cornerstone of my practice. I believe that empowering my patients with knowledge about Lyme disease and its treatment options is crucial for their recovery. I provide resources, support, and guidance to help you make informed decisions about your health.
Therapy offers a safe space for individuals to explore the root causes of their anxiety, develop coping strategies, and build resilience to stress. The goal is often to provide tools for long-term management, improving overall well-being and quality of life. Common approaches include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), which helps people identify and change negative thought patterns, and exposure therapy, which gradually helps individuals confront their fears in a controlled way. I teach my patients a variety of coping skills that are unique to each individual.
Chronic pain can feel isolating and overwhelming, but you're not alone in this journey. If you're struggling to manage the emotional toll of living with persistent pain, counseling can offer a safe space for support, understanding, and practical strategies to help you regain control of your life. I can teach you techniques to reduce the mental and emotional burden of chronic pain, develop personalized tools to manage pain and its impact on daily life and explore how mindfulness and relaxation can help reduce the intensity of pain.

Counseling for young adults and college students focuses on navigating the challenges and transitions that come with this stage of life, such as career decisions, relationship dynamics, identity exploration. I will help you build coping skills, enhance emotional intelligence, and develop a sense of purpose and direction. With a focus on empowerment and self-discovery, counseling provides a supportive environment for you to work through stress, anxiety, or other issues while fostering personal growth and resilience.
Trauma counseling is a specialized form of therapy that focuses on helping individuals heal from the emotional and psychological effects of past traumatic experiences. It often involves creating a safe, supportive environment where patients can process their trauma at their own pace. I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and somatic therapies to help individuals reframe negative thought patterns, release emotional blockages, and regain a sense of control and healing. The goal is to help individuals move forward, improving their mental well-being and quality of life.
Addiction therapy is designed to help individuals struggling with substance use or behavioral addictions by addressing the underlying psychological, emotional, and physical factors that contribute to their addiction. Approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing are commonly used to help clients manage cravings, improve their decision-making, and create long-term recovery goals. The aim is to empower individuals to regain control over their lives and break free from destructive patterns.
